I heard so many good things about this book (and the series) and I really wasn't feeling it. I enjoyed it, but I didn't love it. I thought the magic and the world were neat, but I felt like the world building over-shadowed the characters and the story. I could be encouraged to pick up the rest of the books if it's one of those series that's much better as a series than each book is on it's own, but as it stands right now I won't be continuing with the series.
