The Tales of Beedle the Bard is a fun companion book for Harry Potter fans. The tales themselves are cute for younger readers and the commentary is interesting and humorous for older readers. I probably wouldn't recommend it for someone who hasn't read (or doesn't really like) any of the Harry Potter books.
